On Saturday and Sunday, October 11-12, 2025, the capital city of Aden witnessed a series of theatrical awareness performances on “Community Safety.” These performances were part of the “Enhancing Access to Justice for Women and Girls” project, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with the ASF Youth Foundation and with support from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

The play addressed several issues related to community safety, such as the dangers of explosive remnants of war, fires, stray bullets, and flash floods. Through realistic scenes depicting everyday behaviors that can escalate into disasters, it promoted awareness and prevention as the first line of defense for protecting oneself and the community.

The performances were met with widespread public engagement. Attendees expressed their admiration for the impactful way the play combined awareness with entertainment, emphasizing its success in conveying community safety messages in a simple and relatable manner. Many attendees also praised the realistic portrayal of the scenes, which resonated with community needs and highlighted the importance of responsible behavior in the face of risks. This activity is part of the community outreach teams’ activities to contribute to raising community awareness of the culture of prevention and public safety, and spreading the message that awareness is the way to a “safe exit” from every danger that threatens people’s lives and stability.
